Real talk: Has PowerPoint aged out of the conversation??
Someone told me the other day that PowerPoint kind of dated me—after I shared what I do.
“𝗜 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻… 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁? 𝗜𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳… 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱?”
I’ll be honest—it caught me off guard.
Sure, PowerPoint’s been around forever. But it’s still 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 in today’s workplace:
📊 Presentations
🗣️ Sales pitches
💬 Internal comms
🧠 Strategic storytelling
(And yes—it’s still installed on nearly every business computer for a reason.)
But instead of brushing off the comment—𝗜 𝗴𝗼𝘁 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀.
We had a great conversation. And after hearing what he actually needed (you guessed it, a clear, compelling, visual story), I asked if I could show a few examples of my work.
And once I shared my screen … 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗱.
He went from skeptical to “𝗪𝗮𝗶𝘁—𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁?”
That moment reminded me: It’s not about the tool.
𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲.
So here's to challenging assumptions and transforming “old” tools into extraordinary experiences.
𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜 𝘂𝘀𝗲.
𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗜 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲. 💡 ✨
